Loriot live in Bochum: When the Duck Stays, but No Eye Remains Dry
On Sunday, March 7, 2027, Loriot's timeless humor moves into the RuhrCongress Bochum. The ensemble from The New Entertainment Production brings back the most popular sketches of the great German humorist to the stage – with fine wordplay, precise timing, and that politely absurd observation of everyday life that transforms even the most harmless sentence into a comic catastrophe.
Big Punchlines, Small Catastrophes
Whether it's a bathtub, marriage counseling, buying a bed, winning the lottery, or a yodeling school: Loriot's characters fail with impressive dignity at the pitfalls of daily life. That is precisely where the special comedy atmosphere of this theater evening lies. The scenes feel familiar, the punchlines hit precisely, and between cultivated small talk and refined despair, a laughter experience with cult factor emerges.
Fine Humor with Musical Accompaniment
The new production features a fresh stage design and a lot of attention to detail. Musical accompaniment adds additional color to the grotesque everyday situations, while the ensemble brings Loriot's characteristic blend of cabaret, stand-up style observational humor, and stage play to life. The result: elegant comedy without slapstick and an audience reaction that ranges from quiet chuckling to hearty laughter.
A Classic of the German Comedy Scene
Loriot has shaped the German language with unforgettable scenes and characters. Sentences like The Duck Stays Outside, A Piano, A Piano, or The Egg is Hard have long become part of the cultural memory. The Bochum performance shows why this material still works decades later: good timing never ages, and human quirks never do either.
Comedy Afternoon at RuhrCongress
Doors open at 1:00 PM, and the show starts at 2:00 PM. The RuhrCongress Bochum at Stadionring 20 offers the perfect setting for an entertaining theater afternoon. Tickets are available from 46.50 euros according to the venue; depending on the category, other prices may apply.
Conclusion: Stay Polite, Laugh Heartily
If you want to experience Loriot's fine punchlines, absurd everyday scenes, and masterful timing live, you'll find here a comedic classic with a fresh stage look. So: take a seat, maintain your poise, and secure what is especially precious in the Loriot universe – an afternoon full of laughter.
