Coldplay in Candlelight: An Evening of Piano Full of Light and Emotions

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, St. Francis Church in Bochum-Weitmar transforms into an atmospheric concert hall. At the Candlelight Concert Coldplay & Pop-Crossover, concert pianist Filip Peoski interprets well-known pop and film melodies in emotional piano arrangements. Over 3,000 LED candles bathe the church space in warm light, giving the concert evening a special visual depth.

Coldplay Anthems in Intimate Piano Version

At the center are some of the most prominent songs by Coldplay. Clocks, Viva La Vida, and A Sky Full of Stars gain a new sound language through the reduction to the piano: familiar melodies meet finely nuanced dynamics, clear harmonies, and expressive transitions. The arrangements combine modern pop aesthetics with classical concert tradition.

Pop, Film Music, and Crossover

The program extends beyond Coldplay and opens the evening for other well-known pop, film, and crossover compositions. Filip Peoski connects contemporary melodies with classical playing techniques, creating a varied concert experience between calm soundscapes, rhythmic movement, and large emotional highlights.

More than a Concert: Music in Warm Candlelight

The live atmosphere arises from the interplay of acoustics, architecture, and light. The sacred space of St. Francis Church allows the piano sounds to radiate widely, while thousands of LED candles transform the altar and church nave into a calm, almost cinematic scene. The concert offers an audience mood without a great stage distance: music, space, and light merge into a concentrated evening for Coldplay fans, piano lovers, and friends of modern crossover concerts.

A Modern Sound with Technical Sensitivity

Peoski's concert format combines musical precision with a deliberately personal stage performance. For the Candlelight Concerts, a high-quality Yamaha AvantGrand hybrid piano is used, which combines the playing feel of a concert grand with modern technology. This creates a transparent sound in which touch, resonance, and orchestration of the arrangements become immediately perceivable.
