Bond Exhibition in Bochum: More than just 007

James Bond is much more than a movie character: The exhibition at Moxy Bochum leads into the detailed world of the British secret agent and shows how closely film history, pop culture, and local Bond myths are connected. Visitors can expect an atmospheric art experience with authentic props, collectibles, posters, books, and interactive media stations.

A Journey Through Over 70 Years of Bond History

The exhibition presents numerous objects from the Bond world: Film replicas like Oddjob's iconic hat or Safin's distinctive mask meet vinyl records, cinema advertisements, coins, jewelry, games, merchandise, and historical posters. In the curated overview, a multifaceted image of Bond culture emerges, making the development of the series from early screen adventures to the present understandable.

Between Film Props and Pop Culture

Especially appealing is the connection between material work observation and film historical context. A replica of James Bond's ID alias Sean Connery refers to the special relationship between the character and Wattenscheid. The exhibition makes it visible how props, costumes, and graphic design contribute to the unmistakable aesthetics of the Bond films: sharp contours, dramatic shapes, technical gadgets, and the tension between elegance and danger.

Interactive Engagement with a Prominent Voice

QR codes expand the tour with digital content and allow for a deeper access to the exhibits. Several recordings were specially voiced by Dietmar Wunder, the German voice of Daniel Craig. Thus, the exhibition combines classic collection, audiovisual mediation, and cultural education into a vibrant exhibition atmosphere.

Illustration, Drawing, and Humorous Perspectives

The presentation is complemented by images, drawings, and cartoons by Christoph Kossmann-Hohl, Oli Hilbring, and Waldemar Mandzel. Their works add satirical and graphical perspectives on the myth of 007 to the exhibition. In addition to the meticulous collector's passion, the Bond figure receives a playful, humorous dimension.
