The City Library of Bochum invites you to the opening of the poster exhibition "Sadako's Cranes". The exhibition powerfully commemorates the devastating atomic bombings of the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It offers visitors not only informative posters, but also features an Origami Action, where guests can learn the art of paper folding and create their own cranes. The story of Sadako, a young girl who fell ill with leukemia and folded a thousand paper cranes to symbolize her wish for peace and healing, is vividly conveyed.
Exchange and Education
The exhibition provides a platform for deeper conversations about the historical events and their impact on the present world. Visitors are invited to participate in discussions and share their thoughts and questions about nuclear policy and its implications.
