Magical Christmas Time with The Little Witch in Bochum
When children's eyes shine and a magical world is created on stage, a special family experience begins: The Schauspielhaus Bochum presents on December 20, 2026, the family play The Little Witch based on the beloved children's book classic by Otfried Preußler. The performance combines theater, imagination, and quality time for families with children aged six and up.
A Brave Witch in Search of Her Own Path
The little witch is curious, determined, and full of energy. Together with her raven Abraxas, she experiences a wild ride through a magical world. It’s about courage, friendship, self-confidence, and the question of what it means to find one's own way. The child-friendly staging invites young viewers to sympathize, marvel, and reflect on their own choices.
Imaginative Stage, Costumes, and Music
Director Paulina Neukampf brings the children's book classic to the stage as a family play. Pascal Seibicke designs the stage and costumes, while Bene Becker provides the music. Colorful theatrical images, fairy-tale figures, and the lively portrayal by the ensemble create sensory impressions that reach children directly and engage adults.
Age-Appropriate and Educationally Valuable
The Schauspielhaus recommends the performance for children aged six and up. The story supports an age-appropriate learning experience by playfully conveying themes such as development, independence, responsibility, and solidarity. Educational professionals accompany the production. Thus, a family program emerges that entertains children while stimulating their imagination, language, and social perception.
A Memorable Afternoon for the Whole Family
The performance starts on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM and is expected to last until 5:10 PM. The Schauspielhaus Bochum offers a festive theater afternoon right in the pre-Christmas season. Families experience children's laughter, excitement, and magical moments in one place.
Conclusion: The Little Witch promises a heartwarming family experience filled with imagination, music, and a strong story about courage and friendship. Anyone wishing to treat children to a special theater visit will have a magical afternoon live on stage at the Schauspielhaus Bochum.
