Olchian Advent Fun for Little Theater Fans in Bochum

On Sunday, December 13, 2026, the Theaterrevier will become wonderfully quirky, musical, and festive: At the Advent reading The Olchis Celebrate Christmas, children from age four will experience a fantastical story based on the popular children's book by Erhard Dietl.

Christmas in Schmuddelfing

The Olchis love to be cozy, lazy, and a little bit messy. When they learn about the Christmas market, singing carols, and roasted almonds, their own Christmas enthusiasm awakens. They saw, hammer, bake, and write, and offer their olchian junk at the Christmas market. When the police ask for a permit, a turbulent adventure full of nonsense and surprises begins.

Reading, playing, singing, and joining in

The Theaterrevier team reads, plays, and sings through the olchian Christmas story. The event combines theater, music, and collective discovery. Children can look forward to much imagination, humorous moments, and a lively learning experience that invites listening, wondering, and participating.

Ages Appropriate Family Experience

The Advent reading is recommended for children from four years and is therefore tailored to the needs of young theatergoers. The playful format supports language, imagination, and social development. By connecting stories, songs, and interaction, a warm family experience is created with children's laughter, learning fun, and shared time.

Advent Atmosphere in Theaterrevier

At Theaterrevier at the former Zeche Eins, Christmas atmosphere and olchian humor come together. Families experience theater not only as spectators but as a collective dive into an unusual Christmas world. The story invites conversations about personal Christmas traditions, creativity, and the joy of being different.

The Theaterrevier offers a protected indoor space for the family program. Parents experience a fantastical and age-appropriate event with their children, where safety, community, and joy in theater are the focus.
