When Fantasy Becomes a Literary Encounter

On October 30, 2026, the city library of Bochum will transform into a place for fantastic literature: Jana Jeworreck and Tessa Maelle invite you to a joint fantastic dual reading. The event begins at 7:00 PM at the Education and Administration Center on Gustav-Heinemann-Platz.

Two Voices for the World of Fantasy

The reading connects two authors whose texts explore themes of magic, inner conflicts, and significant questions about identity, morality, and societal roles. This literary experience is aimed at everyone who wishes to discover fantasy not only as escapist entertainment but as a linguistically shaped space for thought.

Jana Jeworreck’s Narrative Worlds

Jana Jeworreck studied cultural sciences with a focus on creative writing at the University of Hildesheim and subsequently worked, among other places, at the Theater Ingolstadt. She is known for the fantasy novels of the Dreiland Trilogy, the novel Journey to the Center of Mera, as well as other fantastic and fairy tale-like narratives.

Her texts combine vivid language art with complex world-building. Fairy tale motifs, mysterious beings, and societal power structures intersect with modern questions about role models and ethical decisions. In the reading atmosphere of the city library, these narratives receive an immediate, personal voice.

Tessa Maelle and the Power of Fantastic Literature

Tessa Maelle represents a fantasy where emotional development, extraordinary life situations, and the search for one’s own path are closely intertwined. Her work Tempus Fugit has been discussed in the literary public and shows how fantastic elements can deepen psychological and societal themes.

The dual reading thus opens an exciting literary dialogue: Two authors present different approaches to the genre and make it tangible how diverse contemporary fantasy can be told.

An Evening for Readers

A reading lives from more than just the printed word. Voice, rhythm, and the intimate atmosphere of the event space create a direct author encounter. Especially fantastic literature unfolds its sensuous effect when characters, landscapes, and conflicts from the book come to life in the audience’s imagination.

Conclusion

The fantastic dual reading with Jana Jeworreck and Tessa Maelle promises an inspiring evening for fantasy fans, literary curious individuals, and all who wish to experience strong stories in a special atmosphere. Anyone wanting to get to know contemporary fantasy up close should mark this date at the city library of Bochum.
