Exchange, repair and discover sustainably in Bochum
On Saturday, November 14, 2026, the Bochum Adult Education Center invites you to the big clothing exchange with puzzle and game exchange as well as Repair Café. From 11 AM to 3 PM, the focus at the Educational and Administrative Center is on sustainable consumption, climate protection, and community involvement.
Clothing exchange with a regional shopping experience
Under the motto "Exchange instead of buying," gently used clothing gets a second chance. Pants, jackets, T-shirts, skirts, sweaters, shoes, and accessories change owners. Participants can bring up to 15 clean and undamaged garments and take home up to one tote bag full of new favorite pieces. Even those who do not bring anything or only want to donate clothing are welcome.
Pass on games and puzzles
The puzzle and game exchange brings unused board games and puzzles back into circulation. This creates a diverse exchange marketplace for families, gaming enthusiasts, and anyone looking for sustainable leisure ideas.
Repair Café: Screw instead of scrap
At the Repair Café, the focus is on self-help. Defective mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and small electrical appliances can be brought in to be made functional again with the help of experienced assistants. Repairs are done without a success guarantee and may involve waiting times depending on demand.
Sustainability, climate protection, and exchange
In addition, visitors can expect lectures and information booths on sustainable living, climate-friendly consumption, and social engagement. The event is part of Now! – A Weekend for the Climate and combines practical everyday tips with social interaction and regional diversity.
Conclusion
The event by the Bochum Adult Education Center demonstrates how vibrant sustainable consumption can be: exchanging clothing, passing on games, repairing devices, and engaging in conversation. Anyone looking to conserve resources and experience shopping differently will find an informative and communal market day here. Admission is free.
