Argumentation Training in Bochum: Confidently Confront Racist Hate

Stay Strong, Clearly Disagree: Argumentation Training in Bochum

Racist and derogatory statements confront individuals in private settings, in professional life, and in public situations. The argumentation training of the Volkshochschule Bochum shows on November 10, 2026, how participants can position themselves more confidently, respectfully, and assertively against inhumane statements.

Practice Instead of Being Speechless

The focus is on concrete conversation situations from everyday life. After a theoretical introduction, participants practice various communication strategies in role plays and develop action options for difficult moments. Case examples and personal experiences create a realistic basis for mutual reflection.

Arguments, Attitude, and Civil Courage

The workshop format combines political education with practical event work. The organization and didactic conception of vhs Bochum are aimed at individuals who do not wish to leave racist hate unchallenged while wanting to remain constructive in conversation. It is also about encouraging others to reflect without overwhelming oneself.

Respectful Coexistence as a Common Goal

The event takes place as part of the campaign "Bochum Reads a Book." In a supportive atmosphere, notions of inequality are critically examined, and strategies for a more democratic conversation culture are developed. The event experience thrives on exchange, active participation, and the opportunity to directly transfer new impulses into participants' everyday lives.

Conclusion: Knowledge, Attitude, and Confidence for Difficult Conversations

Those wishing to learn how to respond clearly to racist or inhumane statements will receive practical tools and space for mutual reflection on that evening. The event at vhs Bochum offers a solid opportunity to strengthen civil courage and actively shape a respectful coexistence.
