Discover Bochum Digitally: Experience the New App Live
How does an app become a practical companion in everyday life? During the City Lab Visit on November 10, 2026, the Smart City team of Bochum will showcase what has changed with the new design of the Bochum App at the Pumpenhaus. From 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, visitors will receive a clear insight into the revised interface, new functions, and digital offerings of the city.
New Interface, Clear Access
The Bochum App presents itself more clearly and makes it easier to discover events, news, places, and offerings in Bochum. During the event, the team will guide participants step by step through the most important areas and explain how the app can be used in everyday life.
Try It Out Rather Than Just Watching
The focus is on practical event experiences: Participants will test the app directly on their own smartphones. Questions such as: Where can I find current events? What places and offerings can be discovered? What new functions come with the redesign? Individual questions will also be addressed, ensuring that digital applications can be used understandably and safely.
Digitization for All Generations
The format is aimed at everyone who wants to get to know the Bochum App or wants to use it better after the redesign. Special support is available for seniors during the initial steps. No prior knowledge is required. The open atmosphere, direct interaction, and practical organization make the City Lab a low-threshold meeting point for digital everyday competence.
Established Format of Smart City Bochum
The event series City Lab Visit is organized by the Smart City Innovation Unit Bochum and makes topics of digital transformation tangible. Since 2022, more than 20 events have already been held – covering topics from virtual reality to citizen participation to smart sensing. The event management connects information, dialogue, and practical experimentation.
Important Note for Participation
Please install the Bochum App on your smartphone before the event begins and bring the device with you. Participation is free, but prior registration is requested.
Conclusion
Anyone who wants to discover Bochum digitally, get to know the new app interface, or clarify personal questions directly with the Smart City team will find the right setting in the City Lab Visit. Experience the revised Bochum App live, try out its functions yourself, and take practical impulses for your digital everyday life with you.
