Growing together: “Let it grow” brings Bochum into motion
With “Let it grow,” a future project is at the forefront at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, connecting urban life, sustainability, and community action. On June 27, 2026, the city community will meet at Königsallee 15 for a participatory format that rethinks and revitalizes the square.
A square becomes a stage for co-design
Chairs out, plants in: The kickoff on April 30, 2026, marked the start of permanent community gardening. Now the development continues. “Let it grow” invites you to actively participate in the transformation in the heart of Bochum, rather than just observing it. This creates a unique event atmosphere among neighbors, culture, and urban design.
Sustainability meets encounter
The initiative of the Klima AG at Schauspielhaus Bochum demonstrates how event planning can work today: open, creative, and with a clear connection to the city. Supported by GLS Bank and based on a concept by Bochum architect Sebastian Schlecht, a format is emerging that goes far beyond a classic entry in the event calendar. This is about participation, identification, and creating a visible event experience in public space.
Music, movement, and a summer audience atmosphere
Starting at 7:30 PM, Lindy Pott e.V. will additionally incorporate a social dance into the program. Dancing or watching, participating or simply being there: It is this very openness that makes the day attractive. Between green ideas, urban ambiance, and vibrant audience energy, a format emerges that remains relaxed yet conveys a clear stance.
What visitors can expect
“Let it grow” connects sustainable urban design with cultural energy and a strong sense of community. Those wanting to experience Bochum from its creative side will find a date of significance, atmosphere, and true participation. A visit is especially worthwhile for anyone wishing to experience culture, sustainability, and urban life in direct interaction.
