Lying Party in Bochum: When the Audience Becomes a Lie Detector

True or false? In the interactive performance Lying Party at the Theaterrevier Bochum, the audience itself becomes part of the stage event. Together with the ensemble Turbo Pascal and Drama Control, an unusual theater experience emerges that blends play, discussion, societal questions, and real participation energy.

Interactive Truth-Seeking with Party Atmosphere

No one remains simply seated in the audience here. The audience votes, reacts, decides, and investigates together with the ensemble what lies behind small deceptions, fake news, and alternative facts. The dance floor atmosphere of a traditional party gives way to an electrifying live energy formed by proximity, spontaneous reactions, and collective decisions.

Turbo Pascal Brings Truth and Deception to the Stage

The Berlin theater and performance collective Turbo Pascal has been working on participatory formats since 2008 and has been active at venues including Sophiensælen, HAU, Deutsches Theater, and Theater an der Parkaue. The production Evil Houses was invited to the Stückemarkt of the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2018 and was awarded the Tabori Prize. Differentiating received the Ikarus Prize in 2019.

A Live Experience for Thinking and Participation

The Theaterrevier transforms into a concentrated space for social processes, dynamics, and utopias. The ensemble and audience together form a large lie detector and negotiate questions surrounding truth, trust, and responsibility. Loud music, fog, darkness, and strobe effects enhance the intense atmosphere of the one-hour performance.

For Curious Visitors Aged 10 and Up

Lying Party is aimed at visitors aged 10 and above. The event on Wednesday, December 9, 2026, starts at 10:00 am and takes place as a school performance at Theaterrevier. The interactive format combines contemporary theater, performance, and participation into a special club experience without a classic dance floor.

Conclusion: Experience Truth Instead of Just Watching

The Lying Party promises an unusual theater experience with direct audience involvement, surprising perspectives, and an energetic atmosphere. Those who don't just want to watch theater but actively help shape it will experience an interactive truth-seeking adventure at Theaterrevier Bochum that resonates long after the conclusion.
