Bochum, I Care About You: An Evening of Conversation about Football, City, and Solidarity
Bochum thrives on its unique blend of football passion, Ruhr area culture, and human closeness. The conversation evening "Bochum, I Care About You…" on November 24, 2026, focuses not only on VfL Bochum but also on the identity of an entire city.
When VfL Becomes the Mirror of the City
VfL Bochum 1848 connects generations and shapes the spirit of the region. The event highlights why the club means far more to many people than just a football team. It’s about tradition, identification, and the emotional power that arises when fan chants, club colors, and stadium atmospheres extend beyond the playing field.
Football, Culture, and Bochum's Spirit
The central question is what makes Bochum unique. In addition to VfL, the themes of the evening include the Maiabendfest, the diverse cultural scene, Bochum Total, the university landscape, and the palpable solidarity of the city. The discussion round connects sporting perspectives with social and cultural insights.
Prominent Voices from the Club and City
The conversation evening will be moderated by Michael Wurst. Joining him are Julia Kreuch, Jörg Lukat, Jo Hartmann, and Melanie Beisenherz from the VfL Bochum fan committee. Together, they will discuss club closeness, city history, fan culture, and the special connection between people and their homeland.
Atmosphere in FanDOM
The Luther Church at the stadium provides the perfect setting for an evening where the intensity of the playing field transforms into conversational energy. Instead of pressing and formations, this time, memories, experiences, and personal perspectives take center stage. Nevertheless, the passion of football is palpable: in the language, in the stories, and in the connections of the guests.
Conclusion: Experience Bochum Live
This conversation evening is aimed at VfL fans, culture-interested Bochumers, and everyone who wants to understand why this city is so closely connected to its club. Those looking to experience Bochum's fan culture, Ruhr area history, and authentic encounters will find a special evening full of closeness and emotion in FanDOM.
