When stories come alive in the dark
On October 28, 2026, the Bochum City Library will transform into a resonance space for goosebumps, tension, and literary night images. Anja Bilabel presents The ultimate Dark & Mystery Night, an atmospheric live audio play based on donations – fitting for the time around Halloween.
Voices, sounds, and eerie stories
At the center of the evening is Anja Bilabel's distinctive storytelling art. The audio piece creator, actress, and voice artist combines dramatic language with melodies, sounds, and acoustic effects. A dense stage design for the imagination emerges from individual voices and noises: a theater without visible backdrops, where every sound casts a shadow.
Literary horror between Poe, King, and Rice
The selection leads into the dark rooms of world literature. Stories by Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, and Anne Rice meet a production that develops horror not just through shock effect, but through atmosphere, rhythm, and psychological tension. The dramaturgy of the live audio play allows pauses to speak and makes the acoustics the actual venue.
Anja Bilabel and the Lauschsalon
Anja Bilabel completed her acting training at the Fritz-Kirchhoff School and has been engaged at theaters in Halle and Münster, among others. Since 1997, she has been developing audio pieces for the stage. This led to the creation of Lauschsalon®, which combines literary texts with music, sounds, and scenic storytelling. Her experience from theater, radio, and dubbing shapes the precise acting art of this format.
A stage experience for Halloween
The theater atmosphere thrives on the concentration of the audience: A breath, a sound, a dark twist – and one's own imagination continues the scene. Those who love literary horror, live readings, and acoustic stage art will experience an evening between narrative theater, audio play, and mystery performance.
Conclusion: The ultimate Dark & Mystery Night invites you to an intense stage experience full of tension, sound, and dark literary fantasy. Secure your place at the Bochum City Library and experience Anja Bilabel live.
