When Gravity Takes a Break: "CAUGHT COLD!" in Bochum
At Varieté et cetera Bochum, winter transforms into a sparkling stage adventure: "CAUGHT COLD!" combines international artistry, fast-paced roller skate acrobatics, juggling, music, and comedy into a high-energy variety show. On January 17, 2027, Pierre Poissonnet will host an evening that amazes before the next trick already lifts reality off its hinges.
Acrobatics Between Risk and Elegance
The production thrives on the interplay of precision, courage, and comedic timing. Daring aerial acrobatics on straps meets the extraordinary contortion of Sudi Salumu, whose body seemingly transcends every anatomical boundary. The trio Beautiful brings partner acrobatics with high technical concentration to the stage, while the roller skate artistry of the Skating Willers merges speed and elegance.
Juggling, Light, and Surprising Trajectories
Walid Merhi, who has his artistic roots in the Bochum youth circus Ratz Fatz, combines classical juggling with modern beats. Balls and frisbees carve out rapid trajectories in the air. The stage design, lighting, and costumes provide an atmospheric framework for the artistic numbers, where every movement acts like a precisely placed dramatic accent.
Comedy as an Anarchic Counterpoint
The cheerful interruption is provided by Davide “Skizzo” Nicolosi. His stage persona blends magic, music, dance, comedy, and anti-juggling with spontaneous moments. This creates a production that captures the thrill of the artistry time and again with surprising punchlines. Pierre Poissonnet complements the show with moderation and singing, giving the evening a personal musical touch.
An Ensemble with International Variety Experience
Directed by Sammy Tavalis, "CAUGHT COLD!" brings together a diverse ensemble: from the antipodean artist Kimberly Lester to the Spanish duo Deibit y Nymeria on the straps to the Skating Willers. Several artists have an impressive resume of international engagements in variety shows, dinner shows, circus productions, and large entertainment shows. Sudi Salumu received the Special Award of the Varieté et cetera at the Newcomer Show in Leipzig in 2025.
Conclusion: A Stage Experience for All Senses
"CAUGHT COLD!" promises a theatrical atmosphere with an artistic pulse: glowing images, precise bodywork, live singing, surprising comedy, and audience reactions oscillating between tense breaths and liberating laughter. Those who wish to experience variety as an immediate stage event will find an evening full of movement, risk, and wintry magic at Varieté et cetera.
