"CAUGHT COLD!": Variety art full of pace, wonder, and humor
When the lights go down in the Varieté et cetera, a winter show begins that combines artistry, music, and comedy into an electrifying stage experience. "CAUGHT COLD!" takes the audience into a world of fearless aerial acrobatics, spectacular roller skating artistry, surprising juggling, and anarchic humor.
Acrobatics between elegance and thrill
The production by Sammy Tavalis focuses on a rapid change of forms and energies. Aerial artists defy gravity while straps, balance, and body art unfold a dramaturgy of wonder. Particularly, Sudi Salumu brings an extraordinary movement language to the stage as a contortionist: The artist from Zanzibar transforms his body into an seemingly endlessly flexible instrument.
Roller skates, juggling, and artistic precision
Speed is provided by the roller skate acrobatics of Skating Willers. Pierre Poissonnet combines moderation and live singing with the artistic heritage of a traditional circus family. Together with Kimberly Lester, they create moments where precision, trust, and speed merge into a nearly weightless stage composition.
Juggling also receives its own poetic dimension in this winter show. Walid Merhi, who began his career in the Bochum youth circus Ratz Fatz, lets balls and Frisbees fly through the space. Kimberley Lester complements the program with antipodism and a roller skate number that combines athletic performance with elegant choreography.
Comedy as an anarchic counterpoint
Between the artistic highlights, Skizzo provides surprising twists. His comedy combines music, magic, dance, and anti-juggling with spontaneous ideas. This gives the production its characteristic rhythm: tense silence is followed by liberating laughter, and physical peak performances are followed by a playful break.
International stage art in Varieté et cetera
The ensemble unites artists from different countries and disciplines. Among others, the duo Deibit y Nimeria on straps, the trio Beautiful with their acrobatics, and Walid Merhi in juggling are part of the show. Set design, lighting, and costumes create the framework for a performance that bridges circus tradition, modern variety aesthetics, and musical entertainment.
The audience reaction thrives on this interplay: holding one’s breath during the risky acts, marveling at physical extremes, and hearty laughter when the comedy surprisingly reframes the events on stage. "CAUGHT COLD!" promises theater atmosphere with circus energy and a stage experience for all who love spectacular live entertainment.
Conclusion: A winter evening with artistic pull
"CAUGHT COLD!" brings together international artistry, roller skate art, juggling, music, and comedy in a fast-paced variety production. Those seeking the magic of the live moment will experience an evening full of thrills, elegance, and surprising comedy at Varieté et cetera. Secure your seat and let the winter show take you into a world beyond gravity.
