When the Christmas Forest turns into a celebration of humanity

On December 21, 2026, a snowy stage forest opens at the Traumbaum Theater in KulturMagazin Bochum for small and large theater guests from four years old. The modern Christmas fairy tale Christmas Forest tells the story of Eberhard and Mops, who set out on Christmas Eve to find a Christmas tree for their parents – and along the way get lost in the woods.

A journey through darkness, cold, and hope

What initially starts as a child's adventure takes a surprisingly touching turn. Amid shimmering moonlight, chattering teeth, and winter silence, the siblings find themselves in a situation that demands more from them than just finding a gift. The further they stray, the closer they come to the question of what Christmas truly means.

Puppet theater with contemporary dramaturgy

The production by Traumbaum Theater combines dynamic puppet theater with a modern Christmas story. The set design, lighting mood, and concentrated theatrical atmosphere lead the young audience into a fairy-tale landscape, while the dramaturgy reexamines familiar Christmas motifs. The focus is on solidarity, care, and the realization that a celebration comes alive not through gifts, but through closeness and empathy.

A stage experience for families

The approximately 50-minute performance is aimed at children aged four and their families. After the play, a short debriefing allows space for questions, impressions, and personal thoughts. Thus, the theater visit becomes more than just a Christmas fairy tale: a shared stage experience that opens up direct access to the art of acting, puppet theater, and cultural participation for children.

Conclusion: Christmas begins where no one is left alone

Christmas Forest promises a heartwarming theater journey with fairy-tale images, a clear staging, and a story that extends beyond the festive occasion. Families experience a vibrant Christmas fairy tale about courage, solidarity, and humanity at the Traumbaum Theater. Those who want to feel the special theater atmosphere just before the holiday should secure a place early.
