A Christmas Tale Between Darkness, Forest, and Shining Hope

When Eberhard and Mops set off into the woods on Christmas Eve, a comical yet touching stage experience begins in the Traumbaum Theater for the whole family. Their goal seems simple at first: A Christmas tree should be a gift for their parents. However, the two get lost and discover what Christmas can mean beyond gifts.

A Dynamic Story for Young Audiences

The production combines vibrant acting with a clear, child-friendly dramaturgy. From the initial adventure, a journey through cold, darkness, and uncertainty unfolds. The moon glimmers through the clouds, teeth chatter from the cold – and in the midst of the wintry stage space, a story about unity, courage, and closeness grows.

What Makes Christmas Special?

The modern Christmas tale poses a simple yet central question: Is Christmas really just about gifts? Eberhard and Mops find their answer not in shiny packaging but in the encounter with the Christmas story and in the experience of being there for each other. The current nativity play opens the view to Christmas as a shared celebration for people of all cultures and faiths.

The Traumbaum Theater aims this performance at children from four years old, families, kindergarten groups, and school classes from grades 1 to 4.
