„EISKALT ERWISCHT!“: Variety Art between Thrill and Winter Magic
On February 27, 2027, the Varieté et cetera in Bochum transforms into a stage for international acrobatics, surprising comedy, and musical energy. The winter show “EISKALT ERWISCHT!” combines dizzying aerial acrobatics, flexible contortion, fast roller skate art, and precise juggling into a diverse stage experience for all senses.
When Gravity Loses Its Rules
At the center of the production is an artistic dramaturgy that intertwines pace and amazement. Aerial acrobats defy heights, roller skate cascade performers bring movement and risk to the stage, while juggling with balls and frisbees creates flowing imagery in space. Lighting mood, music, and choreographed body work condense into a theater atmosphere full of tension.
International Performance Art Without Words
The show thrives on the language of the body. Sudi Salumu, awarded the Special Award at the Newcomer Show in Leipzig in 2025, presents contortion at the highest level. His elastic movements make the human body seem almost weightless. Walid Merhi combines classical elegance with modern beats and develops a juggling performance of powerful precision with balls and frisbees.
Roller Skate Artistry, Music, and Comedy
Pierre Poissonnet leads the evening as host and singer. Together with Kimberly Lester, he represents the traditional roller skate artistry of Skating Willers. Lester also brings her antipodes performance to the stage, where she keeps multiple balls in the air with her feet simultaneously. The comedic break is provided by Skizzo with a mix of comedy, music, dance, magic, and anti-juggling.
A Production with an International Ensemble
Under the direction of Sammy Tavalis, acrobatics, set design, costumes, and lighting design meet a clear variety dramaturgy. The ensemble, including Pierre Poissonnet, Skizzo, Kimberly Lester, Sudi Salumu, Walid Merhi, the duo Deibit y Nimeria, and the trio Beautiful, navigates a world between circus tradition and contemporary stage art.
Conclusion: An Evening of Wonder, Laughter, and Grand Images
“EISKALT ERWISCHT!” promises an intense stage experience with spectacular acrobatics, musical charm, and audience reactions that oscillate between catching breath and freeing laughter. Those who want to experience variety as an immediate art form will find an evening full of movement, risk, and surprising moments at the Bochum Varieté et cetera.
