When winter sparks on stage
At Varieté et cetera Bochum, it will be frosty, fast, and surprising: ICE COLD CAUGHT! combines international artistry, music, comedy, and elegant variety art into a winter show full of wonder. On December 3, 2026, at 8:00 PM, a stage experience begins that transforms everyday life for a few hours into a sparkling world of movement, risk, and humor.
Acrobatics between gravity and weightlessness
The production focuses on dizzying aerial acrobatics, flexible contortion, and spectacular roller-skating artistry. Aerial performances allow bodies to glide seemingly weightless through space, while roller-skating cascades provide electrifying moments with speed and precision. The stage design, lighting atmosphere, and acoustics of Varieté et cetera create the framework for a show where each performance feels like its own dramatic highlight.
An international ensemble with strong stage characters
The evening is hosted by Pierre Poissonnet, who combines moderation with live singing. The artist comes from a long-standing circus family and blends showmanship with roller-skating artistry. Beside him is Kimberly Lester, who ensures elegance and technical precision as an antipode artist and roller-skater.
Special excitement is promised by Sudi Salumu. The contortionist from Zanzibar transforms his body into a seemingly limitless elastic instrument. His art moves between physical extremes, balance, and expressive acting. In 2025, he received the Special Award from Varieté et cetera at the Newcomer Show in Leipzig.
Juggling, comedy, and surprising twists
Walid Merhi brings modern juggling with frisbees and balls into a fast-paced dialogue. The trio Beautiful is known for powerful and elegant acrobatics, while Duo Deibit y Nimeria provides vertical tension on the aerial silks. The artistry is complemented by the anarchic comedy of Skizzo, whose stage character blends magic, music, dance, and anti-juggling.
The direction is by Sammy Tavalis. Together with the ensemble, he develops a varied dramaturgy in which thrill and lightness, precise bodywork, and spontaneous comedy meet. Thus, it creates not just a mere numbers revue, but a rhythmically dense variety experience with changing colors, tempos, and audience reactions.
A winter evening for all senses
As beams of light wander across the stage, costumes flash in the spotlight, and the artists measure the space anew with every movement, the special theater atmosphere of the variety unfolds. Music, acrobatics, and humor intertwine, leading the audience from amazed silence to exuberant laughter.
Conclusion: ICE COLD CAUGHT! promises an evening full of artistic excellence, quirky comedy, and wintry stage magic. For those who want to experience variety art up close and be surprised by international artistry, Varieté et cetera Bochum offers an evening of speed, charm, and goosebumps.
