"ICE COLD CAUGHT!": Winter Varieté with Acrobatic Acts, Comedy, and Goosebumps Moments
When the lights go out in Varieté et cetera, a thrilling journey begins between dizzying aerial acrobatics, sparkling juggling, and anarchic humor. The winter show "ICE COLD CAUGHT!" combines international acrobatics, music, and comedy into a sensual stage experience for an extraordinary evening in Bochum.
Artistic Thrills Under the Spotlight
The production by Sammy Tavalis focuses on pace, contrast, and precisely placed surprises. Daring aerial acrobats, trapeze acts, and the trio Beautiful take the body into spectacular flight paths, while the lighting design by Ronny Cabello immerses the stage in changing moods. The set design by Ronny Cabello and Patrick Siekmann creates the atmospheric framework for a show where every movement becomes a dramatic event.
Contortion, Juggling, and Roller Skate Acrobatics
The performance by Sudi Salumu promises to be particularly impressive. The contortionist from Zanzibar has been performing since he was twelve years old and twists his body with extraordinary flexibility into seemingly impossible positions. He received the Special Award, the Engagement Prize from Varieté et cetera, for his participation in the Newcomer Show 2025 in Leipzig.
Walid Merhi brings modern juggling to the stage with balls and frisbees. His performance combines classical elegance with powerful beats and precise body control. Meanwhile, the Skating Willers provide breathtaking roller skate cascades, while Kimberley Lester creates impressive balance images with her antipodist art.
Music, Moderation, and Anarchic Humor
The evening is hosted by Pierre Poissonnet with song, charm, and the experience of a traditional circus family. Together with Kimberly Lester, he presents the roller skate acrobatics of the Skating Willers. His live music adds an additional acoustic color to the show and connects the individual acts into a varied varieté evening.
Comedic breaks are provided by Davide "Skizzo" Nicolosi. His stage persona combines magic, music, dance, comedy, and anti-juggling. This creates an audience reaction that oscillates between wonder, laughter, and tense anticipation – exactly that immediate theater atmosphere that makes live varieté so special.
An Intense Stage Experience in Bochum
"ICE COLD CAUGHT!" thrives on the connection of athletic performance, poetic moments, and direct audience proximity. The acoustics of the hall, the changing light, the glittering costumes, and precise dramaturgy combine to create a show that speaks not only to the eyes but to all senses. The performance lasts about 90 minutes without a break.
On Sunday, December 20, 2026, the show begins at 7:00 PM. The entrance and gastronomy open two hours before the show starts. Tickets cost between 43 and 48 euros per person depending on seating; for the Sunday performance, the price is 48 euros in the parquet A and 43 euros in the parquet B.
