When Gravity Takes a Break: "ICE COLD CAUGHT!" in Bochum

In Varieté et cetera, the January evening transforms into a sparkling stage experience filled with artistic precision, surprising twists, and anarchic humor. The winter show "ICE COLD CAUGHT!" combines international varieté artistry with music, comedy, and a theatrical atmosphere, where every moment resonates with excitement, risk, and amazement.

Artistic Thrills Under the Spotlight

Dizzying aerial acrobatics, spectacular trapeze acts, and breathtaking roller skate performances meet juggling, contortion, and modern acrobatics. The stage design, lighting ambiance, and dynamic direction give the performances a changing rhythm: sometimes weightless and poetic, sometimes fast-paced, comedic, and immediate.

An Ensemble Between Elegance and Escalation

The evening is hosted by Pierre Poissonnet, who combines moderation and singing. The artist comes from a prestigious circus family and blends showmanship with the speedy roller skate act of the Skating Willers. Alongside him, Kimberley Lester brings exceptional body control to the stage with her antipodean artistry.

Surprising moments are delivered by Sudi Salumu. The contortionist from Zanzibar twists his elastic body into positions that seemingly defy anatomical limits. In 2025, he received the Special Award at the Newcomer Show in Leipzig, presented by Varieté et cetera.

Juggling, Comedy, and Musical Energy

Walid Merhi lets balls and frisbees glide through the space in flowing arcs. His juggling merges classical elegance with modern beats, creating its own visual dramaturgy. The trio Beautiful enhances the show with artistic precision and impressive group formations.

The comedic counterpoint is provided by Davide "Skizzo" Nicolosi. His stage character interweaves magic, music, dance, comedy, and anti-juggling into a deliberately chaotic play style. Thus, a varieté evening emerges that juxtaposes thrills and liberating laughter side by side.

Direction with a Sense of Pace and Atmosphere

Director Sammy Tavalis unites the different disciplines into a varied arc of tension. Lighting design, costumes, and stage sets support the changing moods of the production, creating a framework for a sensual stage experience that bridges circus tradition and contemporary varieté art.

Conclusion: An Evening Full of Wonder

"ICE COLD CAUGHT!" promises a fast-paced winter show featuring international acrobatics, pointed comedy, music, and strong visual moments. Those who wish to experience acrobatics up close, marvel at extraordinary body art, and escape the everyday for an evening will find a fitting stage at Varieté et cetera.
