Lying Party in Bochum: When the Audience Becomes a Lie Detector

On November 25, 2026, the Theaterrevier in Bochum transforms into an interactive space for truth, deception, and surprising perspectives. At the Lying Party by Turbo Pascal and Drama Control, the audience doesn't just watch: They think along, vote, and become part of the stage action.

Interactive Truth-Seeking with Party Energy

True or false? This exact question stands at the center of the unusual theater adventure. Together with the ensemble, the audience examines everyday lies, fake news, alternative facts, and the many little deceptions that accompany our daily lives. This results in a lively club experience without a classic dance floor: The energy comes from reactions, discussions, and joint decisions.

Turbo Pascal Brings Societal Questions to the Stage

The Berlin theater and performance collective Turbo Pascal has been working on participatory formats since 2008. The group has been active in, among others, Sophiensælen, HAU, the Deutsches Theater, and the Theater an der Parkaue. The production Evil Houses was invited to the play market of the Berliner Theatertreffen 2018 and awarded the Tabori Prize.

Participate Instead of Just Watching

The dramaturgy relies on proximity, direct address, and collective tension. The ensemble and audience together form a large lie detector and negotiate questions around truth, trust, and social responsibility. The Theaterrevier provides a concentrated indoor space where every vote, every doubt, and every surprising twist has an immediate impact.

For Curious Visitors Aged 10 and Up

The event is aimed at visitors aged 10 and up and takes place as a school performance. It starts on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 09:30 AM. Ticket pre-sales begin according to the schedule on September 27, 2026; groups can book through Schauspielhaus Bochum.

Conclusion: A Theater Format with Real Participation

The Lying Party combines contemporary theater, play, discussion, and societal questions into an unusual live experience. Those who want to not just sit in the audience, but actively think along and make decisions will experience an interactive truth-seeking adventure in Bochum filled with excitement, energy, and surprising moments.
