An evening of theater about interests, strategies, and the art of negotiation

The Art of the Deal is a theater evening by Wunderbaum and the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum. The focus is on the mechanisms of negotiation – that is, the processes in which interests collide, positions are formulated, and common or opposing solutions emerge.

The production explores how negotiations function and what dynamics develop in the process. It is not only about specific agreements but also about the fundamental questions behind every deal: Who talks to whom? What interests become visible? How do compromises arise, and when do conversations come to a halt?

Theater evening in the Kammerspiele

For the performance, the Kammerspiele of the Schauspielhaus Bochum will open. Wunderbaum is working together with the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum on a scenic engagement with negotiation. The theme will be brought to the stage and explored as the subject of a theater evening.

The title The Art of the Deal refers to the tension between strategy, communication, and mutual influence. Negotiation can take place factually, personally, publicly, or secretly. It is this complexity that makes the topic a suitable starting point for a theatrical investigation.

Those interested in contemporary theater, social processes, and the working methods of Wunderbaum as well as the Schauspielhaus Bochum will find an evening dedicated to an everyday yet complex process. The event will take place on October 31, 2026, in Bochum.
