Kultur Ruhr GmbH | Jobs & Ruhrtriennale
The Kultur Ruhr GmbH is one of the most important cultural production institutions in the Ruhr area and is currently located in Bochum at Gerard-Mortier-Platz 1. It is not a single stage or hall, but an organization that works with four independent program pillars, continuously making the Ruhr area visible as a cultural space. The official website currently focuses primarily on the Ruhrtriennale, along with Chorwerk Ruhr, Tanzlandschaft Ruhr, and Urbane Künste Ruhr. The organization is structured as a non-profit, supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Regional Association of Ruhr, and is characterized by a clear, publicly traceable structure. For inquiries regarding Kultur Ruhr GmbH, Bochum, jobs, calls for applications, Ruhrtriennale, or Urbane Künste Ruhr, not only the program is relevant but also the organizational role of the society itself. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/kultur-ruhr?utm_source=openai))
What Kultur Ruhr GmbH actually is
The current Kultur Ruhr GmbH was established in 2001 at the suggestion of the International Building Exhibition Emscher Park. This origin is important because it explains why the organization is so closely connected to the industrial heritage and the cultural repurposing of large sites in the Ruhr area. Its mandate is not limited to a single venue but encompasses the production and mediation of contemporary and cross-genre art throughout the entire cultural metropolis of Ruhr. This orientation remains the core of the Kultur Ruhr GmbH brand to this day: art that does not take place in a side room but interacts with the city, landscape, and industrial architecture. The structure is intentionally modular, allowing the various programs to maintain their own artistic signature. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/kultur-ruhr?utm_source=openai))
For this reason, many users search for terms like Kultur Ruhr GmbH Bochum, Kultur Ruhr GmbH Gelsenkirchen, or Kultur Ruhr GmbH logo and encounter a system of ongoing festival pages, archive pages, and program pages. Those who view the current official page recognize: The organization is anchored in Bochum but radiates content-wise throughout the entire Ruhr area. Ruhrtriennale, Chorwerk Ruhr, Tanzlandschaft Ruhr, and Urbane Künste Ruhr are not merely sub-brands but independent programs with clearly defined tasks. From an SEO perspective, this combination of location, structure, program diversity, and regional reference is crucial as it covers the most common search motives: background, address, ongoing projects, and specific participation or job opportunities. ([urbanekuensteruhr.de](https://www.urbanekuensteruhr.de/about))
Ruhrtriennale as the strongest public presence
The Ruhrtriennale is the most visible and internationally recognized program pillar of Kultur Ruhr GmbH. It is officially described as a festival of the arts in the Ruhr metropolis, making former industrial sites such as halls, coking plants, machine houses, and spoil heaps prominent protagonists. The festival operates at the intersection of music theater, drama, dance, performance, concerts, installations, and visual arts. For 2024 to 2026, Ivo Van Hove is the artistic director of the Ruhrtriennale; he is also part of the management of the entire GmbH. This makes the central importance of the festival visible organizationally as well. The current program page lists the period from August 20 to September 20, 2026. ([2023.ruhrtriennale.de](https://2023.ruhrtriennale.de/en/about-the-ruhrtriennale?utm_source=openai))
For visitors, this means: Those searching for Ruhrtriennale are not just looking for a date but for an experience of industrial architecture, artistic density, and regional identity. The Ruhrtriennale works with different venues in the Ruhr area, giving the festival its own spatial character each year. This mix of changing locations and recognizable artistic signature makes the festival so strong. For the Kultur Ruhr GmbH brand, the Ruhrtriennale is therefore not just a program point but the flagship through which many other search inquiries arise: tickets, program, schedule, travel, jobs, and venues. The website makes it clear that the organization regularly seeks personnel for festival implementation, indicating that a whole production system stands behind the public perception. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/stellenausschreibungen))
Venues in Bochum and the Ruhr area
The venues of the Ruhrtriennale are a central topic for anyone looking for directions, parking, seating, or programs. The official website lists Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Gladbeck, and Dortmund as cities where events take place. In Bochum, these include the Jahrhunderthalle, the steam blower house at Jahrhunderthalle, the turbine hall at Jahrhunderthalle, and the festival center Wunderland. These places are not neutral backdrops but shape the perception of the festival with their industrial character. They are listed individually on the venue page because accessibility, orientation, and processes vary by location. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/spielorte))
The travel page also makes it clear that the Ruhrtriennale values well-planned routes. Those arriving by public transport can use their tickets on the event day throughout the entire Rhine-Ruhr transport association for round trips; the tickets are valid until 3 a.m. the following day and are non-transferable. For questions regarding accessible travel or the use of an accessible parking space, the service team refers to the contact address vorderhaus@ruhrtriennale.de. For many searchers, such details are crucial as they pertain to the practical side of Kultur Ruhr GmbH: not only the artistic program but also the actual accessibility of the venues in the Ruhr area. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/anreise?utm_source=openai))
Jobs and calls for applications at Kultur Ruhr GmbH
A particularly strong keyword signal is Kultur Ruhr GmbH Jobs. The official jobs page shows that the organization regularly seeks personnel for various tasks, covering both the festival team and the artistic operations office, ticketing, and audience services. Currently, they are looking for assistants for audience services, team members for the awareness team, assistants for box office services, and a production management position. The calls for applications specifically refer to the Ruhrtriennale 2026, which will take place from August 20 to September 20, 2026. For audience services, the website lists tasks such as hall service, admission and ticket control, cloakroom, parking guidance, and service point. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/stellenausschreibungen))
For users searching for Kultur Ruhr GmbH call for applications or Kultur Ruhr GmbH Kununu, the jobs page is an important reference as it concretely illustrates the daily work life. Kultur Ruhr GmbH not only shows available positions there but also the organizational requirements behind a large festival operation: training dates, clearly time-limited assignments, coordination between departments, technical processes, and collaboration with artists and guest productions. For production management, tasks such as organizational planning, project management, contract negotiations, calls for applications, and research for suitable venues are mentioned. This is a good indication that the organization is not a static office workplace but a production-strong cultural organization with recurring personnel needs and complex processes. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/stellenausschreibungen))
Urbane Künste Ruhr, Chorwerk Ruhr, and Tanzlandschaft Ruhr
Urbane Künste Ruhr is the program pillar that is most frequently associated with the search term Kultur Ruhr GmbH Urbane Künste Ruhr. On the official page, it is described as a decentralized institution for contemporary art in the Ruhr area that creates and sustainably researches public spaces in various formats. Under the artistic direction of Britta Peters, it initiates site-specific exhibition projects, programs for guest artists, and the experimental Grand Snail Tour through the region. This form of art production differs significantly from a classical single venue and explains why Bochum as a seat and the Ruhr area as an action space are equally important. Additionally, the page emphasizes that Urbane Künste Ruhr is part of Kultur Ruhr GmbH based in Bochum. ([urbanekuensteruhr.de](https://www.urbanekuensteruhr.de/about?utm_source=openai))
Chorwerk Ruhr complements this profile as one of the most significant chamber choirs in Germany. The official representation states its founding in 1999 and describes the ensemble as a solid pillar of vocal art in the German-speaking area. Since 2011, the artistic direction has been under Florian Helgath. The third relevant pillar is Tanzlandschaft Ruhr, which is explicitly mentioned as an independent area in the overall structure of the GmbH and contributes to the Ruhrtriennale through collaborations, for example, with PACT Zollverein. Together, these programs demonstrate why Kultur Ruhr GmbH is much more than just a festival name: it is a network of different artistic formats that support each other and form a distinctive cultural landscape in the Ruhr area. ([chorwerkruhr.de](https://chorwerkruhr.de/about/chorwerk-ruhr/?utm_source=openai))
Directions, contact, and visitor information
Those searching for Kultur Ruhr GmbH Bochum usually want very specific contact details. The current official address is Gerard-Mortier-Platz 1, 44793 Bochum. The homepage and the imprint also provide the phone number +49 (0) 234 97 48 33 00 and the email address info@ruhrtriennale.de. For tickets and information, the website specifies fixed service hours: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday and public holidays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. For searchers, this is practical as they do not have to navigate through various subpages for long but can directly access the official contact structure. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/))
It is also interesting to note the historical context for the term Kultur Ruhr GmbH Gelsenkirchen. Older archive pages indeed listed an earlier address in Gelsenkirchen, while the current official address is in Bochum. This is important for search engine and user logic because old entries, archive pages, and current pages often appear side by side. Furthermore, the current website shows that the organization is clearly structured in management: Ivo Van Hove and Dr. Vera Battis-Reese are named as the company management in the imprint. This allows for a clean separation of current Bochum references, older Gelsenkirchen hits, and the current organizational profile without making speculative statements. ([archiv.ruhrtriennale.de](https://archiv.ruhrtriennale.de/www.2012.ruhrtriennale.de/de/sys/kontakt/index.html?utm_source=openai))
Logo, brand, and official appearance
The keyword Kultur Ruhr GmbH Logo refers less to a single image motif than to the consistent brand management of the entire organization. The current imprint attributes the concept and branding to Studio Dumbar/DEPT®, with web design and programming by MIR MEDIA. This is an important indication because the cultural impact of the organization functions not only through content but also through the visual appearance. The brand appears on the program pages, in the communication of the Ruhrtriennale, and in the subpages of the individual programs with a clear and recognizable tone. For searchers expecting a logo, corporate design, or official visual language, the imprint thus provides the cleanest reference. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/en/imprint))
Historically, the brand development can also be traced. Older archive pages mention a logo design by Thomas Mayfried and other earlier design specifications, while the current website documents the brand appearance that is valid today. This is a good example of how the search intention around logo, branding, and Kultur Ruhr GmbH has changed: users are not just looking for a file but for the official visual identity of a cultural organization with multiple program pillars. Therefore, anyone publishing content, job postings, or festival information from Kultur Ruhr GmbH should always base it on the current appearance, today's contact details, and the current website structure. ([archiv.ruhrtriennale.de](https://archiv.ruhrtriennale.de/www.2012.ruhrtriennale.de/de/sys/kontakt/index.html?utm_source=openai))
Reviews, kununu, and the employer image
Those searching for reviews or kununu for Kultur Ruhr GmbH usually want to know how the organization is perceived as an employer. The official pages do not provide subjective reviews, but rather solid facts: current calls for applications, task profiles, organizational structure, shareholders, and contact details. This is important for a serious classification because Kultur Ruhr GmbH transparently shows which roles it regularly needs and how the festival operation is organized. The jobs page makes it clear that the organization often works on a project basis and seeks temporary team members for various tasks. This indicates a strongly production-oriented structure typical in the cultural sector. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/de/stellenausschreibungen))
Additionally, current job postings show that the organization values respect, diversity, and clear processes. In a current job posting, it states that Kultur Ruhr GmbH is committed to mutual respect and social diversity. For applicants, this is a useful hint as it provides insight into the self-understanding language of the organization beyond the mere job description. Those comparing external review portals with the official information should therefore keep both levels separate: personal opinions on one side, verifiable facts on the other. For a well-founded assessment, the official job pages, the imprint, and the program pages are the best starting point. ([ruhrtriennale.de](https://www.ruhrtriennale.de/media/filer_public/4e/6e/4e6e516a-2531-4b48-a969-a9b8ec63d850/2026_stellenausschreibung_produktionsleitung.pdf?utm_source=openai))

After yesterday's dress rehearsal for the Ruhrtriennale/Respublika at the Jahrhunderthalle and the almost sleepless night that followed, one wonders who granted permission for FIVE techno raves starting at 11:00 PM, even on weekdays and up to three nights in a row. Such a night might be tolerable for residents as an exception - if you don't have to work the next day, etc. - but this is just too much. Moreover, it is already announced in the program that the last rave on 17.09. will go all night until Sunday - including an after-event starting at 08:00 AM. Where the cultural or artistic enrichment of techno raves lies and why it wasn't limited to the pure exhibition is also questionable for me.
