Matrix Bochum | Events & Tickets 2026

The Matrix Bochum is for many visitors much more than just a club in Langendreer. It is a venue with history, character, and a very clear musical identity. Those searching for Matrix Bochum events, Matrix Bochum today, or Matrix Bochum upcoming events usually find a mix of club nights, concert events, and scene parties that have been firmly established in the Ruhr area for years. The Matrix is located at Hauptstraße 200 in Bochum-Langendreer and occupies a historic site that originally belonged to the Müser Brewery. Particularly striking is the listed brewing tower, where club and live operations now take place. This makes the Matrix a venue that unusually strongly combines industrial culture and nightlife. With four areas, a fixed weekly and monthly program, and a long tradition for rock, metal, gothic, industrial, and wave, it is a regular meeting point for many guests when it comes to concerts, scene parties, and special club nights. Events today and the current program at Matrix Bochum

At Matrix Bochum, much revolves around a changing but clearly defined program. The Ruhr-Guide describes the venue as a meeting point for rock, heavy metal, industrial, wave, and the dark scene; at the same time, alternative, charts, dance music, crossover, funk, gothic, rock, indie, and trash are played there. This exact mix is an important SEO lever because it covers the main search intentions around Matrix Bochum program, Matrix Bochum events today, and Matrix Bochum concerts. According to the description, the Matrix works with a fixed weekly and monthly program that has developed over time and includes not only club formats but also live acts. This live segment is well documented: concert portals regularly feature performances by international and German acts, such as Blitzkid, The Subways, or other tour stops in Bochum-Langendreer. For seekers, this means: The Matrix is not just a pure disco but a hybrid venue for club culture and live music. This is precisely why the combination of scene nights, band shows, and thematic parties works so well. Anyone planning a visit today or in the coming days should check the respective event listing, as program focuses change depending on the day of the week, tour, and party series. The Matrix remains true to its musical DNA: darker genres and guitar music are not just accessories but a recurring foundation of the program. Tickets, website, and upcoming events at Matrix Bochum

Those searching for Matrix Bochum tickets or Matrix Bochum website will find the venue on the official domain, which is repeatedly listed in directories and ticket portals as matrix-bochum.de. Additionally, industry profiles provide a phone number and email address, which are important for organizing box office, reservations, and event inquiries. Particularly in the concert sector, the Matrix is well positioned: Ticketmaster, Songkick, and JamBase list upcoming events, while Regioactive complements the calendar with current event texts and tour dates. From an SEO perspective, it is worthwhile to link terms like upcoming events, tickets, program, and website directly, as they reflect the same user desire: to quickly get to the right event and purchasing opportunity. The current event landscape also shows that the Matrix not only relies on local club nights but also attracts tour stops for rock, metal, and alternative acts. This exact mix makes the venue interesting for seekers looking for a specific date, genre, or band. For such pages, the added value is always the same: a quick overview of the next date, the band, the time, and the link to purchase tickets. For the user, the Matrix is thus both a party location and a concert address. For the search engine, it is a strong entity with recurring, distinctive keywords that can be well represented across official and semi-official portals. Parking and directions to Matrix Bochum

Parking at Matrix Bochum and the directions to Matrix Bochum are crucially determined by the location in Langendreer. The address is Hauptstraße 200, 44892 Bochum, and an official directions PDF describes the route from the west via the A40, the Bochum highway interchange, the A43, and then the A44 exit towards Witten or Bochum-Langendreer. After that, according to the direction sketch, it goes onto the B235 and straight ahead until the left side, where the Matrix is located. Further event information states that the S-Bahn S1 provides a convenient connection via the Bochum-Langendreer station and the night express stops at the Langendreer Markt stop. For guests with cars, it is also important that several sources mention parking options on-site or directly at the door. This is particularly relevant for queries about parking, parking spaces, and directions, as many visitors want to know whether the location is easily accessible right before the event. The Matrix is not located in the densest center of Bochum but in Langendreer on a well-connected axis near the city border to Dortmund and Witten. This makes it typical for the Ruhr area: accessible by car, S-Bahn, or night buses. Anyone attending a concert or party should therefore always check the specific event page, as recommendations for arrival, entry, and return home change depending on the time and event. For a venue with nighttime operations, this mobility is a real location advantage. ([images.visions.de](https://images.visions.de/download/anfahrt_matrix.pdf))

Capacity, rooms, and equipment of Matrix Bochum

Matrix Bochum is listed in various profiles with different capacity figures, and this shows how versatile the venue is used. For SEO planning, it is therefore important not just to mention a single number but to explain the context clearly: There are venue databases that list the concert club with around 320 seats, other portals mention about 950 to 1,000 visitors, and event and MICE providers report up to 1,500 guests with combinable room concepts. These differences are not contradictions but an indication that the capacity depends on setup, room combination, and event type. The factsheet of the Matrix lists several rooms by name and area: Tube, Club, Catacombs, Kesselhaus, Old Beer Cellar, and Café. Additionally, there are technical and organizational features such as projector, screen, catering-free, power supply, flipchart, daylight, elevator, internet and DSL connections, parking spaces, freight elevator, WLAN, truck access, sound system, microphone, lighting system, a stage, and climate control. These are exactly the details that are important to organizers, corporate events, and concert planners. The variety of rooms is also exciting for visitors because it explains why the Matrix can host both intimate club nights and larger live and scene formats. The venue is thus not only an address for concert tickets but also a versatile event location with technical infrastructure and multiple usage scenarios. Those searching for Matrix Bochum capacity should always keep the specific room and the respective event setup in mind. They show what experiential worlds are associated with the venue. The Ruhr-Guide description highlights that E.O.D. stands for Empire Of Darkness and has been a fixed night at the Matrix for over 23 years. On this evening, fans of future and synth pop, medieval, new goth, crossover, pop, and wave meet; the event is thus a clear magnet for the dark scene in NRW and beyond. Trinity is also documented as a recurring event in the Matrix context, including techno, trance, and drum-and-bass setups. Affenkäfig appears as a hardstyle and techno event in the Matrix environment and is listed in event listings with multiple floors, line-up, and club tour character. For seekers wanting to see photos of Matrix Bochum, it is also relevant that there is a dedicated Wikimedia Commons category for the venue. History of Matrix Bochum in the Brewing Tower

The historical depth of Matrix Bochum is a central reason why the venue is perceived so strongly in the Ruhr area. The Ruhr-Guide describes the origin of today's Matrix as a brewery, tavern, and shop on Hauptstraße in Langendreer; in 1891, it was expanded into a large brewery, and the approximately 30-meter-high brewing house was built in 1928. The brewery was finally closed in 1976. A new chapter began in 1978 when the Rockpalast opened on the first floor of the Müser Tower. Rock and heavy metal long shaped the sound there before the current Matrix gradually emerged from the site. According to the Ruhr-Guide, the name Matrix has been used since 1998 or early 1999, and since the year 2000, the venue has operated as Matrix Bochum, one of the largest and most well-known nightclubs in the Ruhr area. The Route-Industriekultur complements this narrative with the note that the listed brewing tower has served as a disco since 1978 and has been used as Matrix Bochum since 2000. This history is valuable for SEO because it organically connects the keywords history, features, industrial culture, and history with the event and ticket themes. Therefore, when visiting the Matrix, one does not simply enter any club but a place with industrial past, architectural history, and a long nightlife culture. This also explains why the venue is still so strongly associated with rock, gothic, and live culture: the atmosphere does not come from nowhere but from the use of a real historical building. This connection of memory, subculture, and program is what makes the charm of Matrix Bochum. ([ruhr-guide.de](https://www.ruhr-guide.de/ausgehen/ausgehen-im-ruhrgebiet/clubs-discos/matrix-bochum/))

Went there for a concert. I can really see this place being a cute club but it is just not a good concert hall, there were way too many people for such a small place and because the area is more long than wide one could barely see anything. Also the overall sound quality was so bad that I could not understand what the singer was saying or singing even though I know most of the songtext out of my head. All in all cute. But stay away for concerts.

Great place for concerts and parties. Very spacious with multiple bars and rooms. It's nice because there are areas to sit and talk in if the music gets to be too much. There are multiple bathrooms, and they are clean. However, there has always been a long wait outside to get in, and it is super uncomfortable, especially in bad weather. One person working the door isn't enough. There is also often a long line for the coat check, and usually only one person working that as well too.

Location is easy to reach by public transport (S1 or tram) but it is not convenient (it is very far from hotels). The venue is small, it is hard to move, it has almost no ventilation. However it has some easy to reach bars to buy drinks (only cash payments... it is Germany after all). Reasonable prices. No accessibility anywhere, lots of stairs... forget it if you have mobility issues. I saw Blaze Bayle, it sounded really good and it was a great experience.

Drinks are great, good price and big glasses. Staff is nice for crew and visitor. Toilets are very clean. Location is great but parking is a hell, no real good way to park somewhere safely. Sound was great but the smoke machine must be turned down, it ruins the voices of singers and even the visitors were complaining. Of course Semblant was great again, we knew that already. \m/

The place might be cool for parties, but the sound quality at concerts is rather bad. Also since the concert room is long and narrow, it is hard to see anything if you are not at the front. However, the most awful part is that you get a consumption card with which you pay at the venue and you pay after the concert for everything you purchased. This leads to everyone needing to wait in line after the concert to pay their debt, all of this on a very cramped space (don't go there if you are claustrophobic). We needed about forty minutes between the end of the concert and being able to leave the venue.
