Turnhalle Lenneplatz | Events & Tickets
The Turnhalle Lenneplatz in Bochum-Grumme is not a classic large event hall, but a clearly anchored sports and community location in the school environment. The city of Bochum lists the hall as a gym measuring 12.5 x 25 meters, while the Paul-Dohrmann-Schule indicates its location at Lenneplatz 23, and the sports club DJK Preußen 1911 Bochum uses the hall as a venue for health sports, youth, and course offerings. Those looking for Turnhalle Lenneplatz events or Turnhalle Lenneplatz tickets should primarily think of regular courses, groups, and registrations. The address, surroundings, and size show: This is less about show business and more about movement, community, and neighborhood. ([bochum.de](https://www.bochum.de/Referat-fuer-Sport-und-Bewegung/Turnhallen-und-Sporthallen))
Events, Courses, and Registration at Turnhalle Lenneplatz
The currently visible offerings around Turnhalle Lenneplatz mainly come from DJK Preußen 1911 Bochum. On the health and youth page, several groups are described directly for the location Lenneplatz 21 in Bochum-Grumme, including men's fitness, women's fitness, functional fitness gymnastics, spinal gymnastics, parent & child, and KoKraß. Additionally, the course page features belly dance fitness, while Pilates is not currently offered there. This makes the hall visible as a place with a regular training rhythm, not as a sporadically used event location. For seekers, this is important: The term events fits better with course and group appointments than with large concert evenings. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/gesundheitssport/))
Particularly striking is how everyday-oriented the offerings are. Some groups are aimed at people over 60, others at women's fitness or mixed adult groups, and others at children and families. This makes the hall a location where fixed weekly plans, course blocks, and personal contacts play a larger role than a central ticket platform. Those seeking information will find specific weekdays, age groups, and contact details on the club pages. For SEO search, this means: The best terms are not only events and tickets but also courses, health sports, youth, and parent & child. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/gesundheitssport/))
Tickets, Prices, and What Visitors Can Expect Here
A classic ticket sale is not recognizable on the researched pages. Instead, the offerings work with membership fees, course fees, and registration. An example of this is belly dance fitness: The course page lists a price of 15 euros for club members and 30 euros for non-members. On the youth page, a contact form for inquiries and registrations is also used. So, those looking for tickets for Turnhalle Lenneplatz should rather expect course bookings, participation fees, or club contributions than seat tickets or digital entry tickets. This is normal for a sports hall and even helpful for visitors, as the use is clearly geared towards active participation. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/kurse/))
Also, in the text image of the website, it becomes clear that the focus is on movement rather than event hype. The groups are described with times, target groups, and contacts, such as with fixed training windows on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. This is a different usage pattern than in a theater or a multipurpose hall with a seating plan, box office, and entry management. Therefore, those searching for Turnhalle Lenneplatz tickets will likely find what they are looking for more quickly if they search for the specific course name, target age, or health sports area. For practical orientation, this means: First select the offering, then clarify the registration. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/gesundheitssport/))
Access and Parking at Lenneplatz in Bochum-Grumme
The access to Turnhalle Lenneplatz is easy to name but still sensitive in everyday life. The hall is located at Lenneplatz 21 in Bochum-Grumme; the adjacent school location is at Lenneplatz 23. The club page also names Lenneplatz 21, 44807 Bochum as navigation. The surroundings are thus clearly located in the Bochum district of Grumme and not on a major arterial road with an event parking garage. For visitors, this means: The correct address is important, and those arriving by car should not search on-site for a large, signposted event access. ([pds-bochum.de](https://www.pds-bochum.de/ueber-uns/lenneplatz/))
When parking, caution is advised. A WAZ report states that there are no designated general parking spaces at Lenneplatz, that there are two spaces available at the hall, and that there are four marked spaces for vocational schools in the schoolyard. At the same time, it is described that parking on sidewalks is prohibited and that residents regularly complain about blocked access and emergency routes. The article also mentions Josephinenstraße as an alternative location with more parking space. In practice, this means: Those wanting to go to Turnhalle Lenneplatz should plan their arrival better early and check in advance for an alternative route on foot, by bike, or via public transport. This is not a dramatic restriction but a real location info. ([waz.de](https://www.waz.de/staedte/bochum/article242453144/Rettungswege-in-Bochum-zugeparkt-Was-ist-wenn-es-brennt.html))
Size, Equipment, and Use of the 12.5 x 25 Meter Hall
The city of Bochum lists Turnhalle Lenneplatz in its overview of gyms and sports halls as a hall measuring 12.5 by 25 meters. This size is typical for a standardized school sports and club hall and explains why gymnastics, fitness, and children's groups mainly take place there. Compared to larger two- or three-hall complexes, the area is more compact, but that can even be advantageous for courses: The groups remain manageable, and many forms of movement can be organized without long distances or a large stage. Therefore, those asking about capacity should think less of an event arena and more of a functional movement space. ([bochum.de](https://www.bochum.de/Referat-fuer-Sport-und-Bewegung/Turnhallen-und-Sporthallen))
This has consequences for the user structure. A hall of this size is usually planned for ongoing sports operations, school use, and club hours, not for seating, rows, or a fixed seating plan. A classic seating plan is therefore not a central topic here, as the use is active and sports-oriented. This is also shown on the club pages: It is about movement exercises, stretching, muscle training, coordination, balance, and age-appropriate loads rather than spectator rows. Those looking for a location with a stage character are wrong here; those looking for a solid and practical sports hall are right at Lenneplatz. ([bochum.de](https://www.bochum.de/Referat-fuer-Sport-und-Bewegung/Turnhallen-und-Sporthallen))
Youth, Family, and Health Sports at DJK Preußen 1911 Bochum
Especially for families and children, Turnhalle Lenneplatz is a clear community location. On the youth page of DJK Preußen 1911 Bochum, parent & child groups for children aged two to five years are mentioned, as well as KoKraß for children aged four to sixteen years. Additionally, the club points out the sports voucher for Bochum primary and special school students in grades 1 to 4, which can be redeemed at a Bochum sports club in the 2025/2026 school year. This shows that the location is not only intended for adults but also for entry, movement, and family closeness. Such offerings shape the search intention behind terms like Turnhalle Lenneplatz events in practice much more strongly than one-time show events. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/jugend/))
The location is also broadly positioned in health sports. The club page lists, among other things, Fit for Retirement, Fitness for Body and Soul, Women's Fitness, Functional Fitness Gymnastics, Men's Fitness, and Spinal Gymnastics. The descriptions speak of a mix of endurance, strengthening, stretching, relaxation, balance, bodyweight training, and sometimes equipment like dumbbells or balance tools. This mix makes the hall attractive for people who want to be active regularly in a small, manageable group rather than just training. For a location page, this is worth its weight in gold because it shows real use instead of advertising language. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/gesundheitssport/))
Background of the Location Lenneplatz 21/23 in Bochum
The location at Lenneplatz has a school and neighborhood background that is still visible today. The Paul-Dohrmann-Schule indicates its location at Lenneplatz 23, while the gym is located on the other side of the same area at 21. A WAZ report also describes the place as a former Catholic secondary school, showing that the buildings were used differently in the past and present. This also explains why the surroundings appear more functional than representative: Here, school, club, and residents meet directly. For visitors, this is important because you do not drive into a classic event mile at Lenneplatz, but into an existing educational and sports area. ([pds-bochum.de](https://www.pds-bochum.de/ueber-uns/lenneplatz/))
It is precisely from this that the character of Turnhalle Lenneplatz arises. It is not a place for red carpets or large ticket counters, but a practical space for movement, training, and regular community. Those who understand this will also search better: Instead of just asking for tickets, it is worth searching for course names, weekdays, contacts, and the term sports hall Lennestraße. This turns a general event search into concrete planning. For Bochum-Grumme, this is an advantage because the location remains approachable and still covers a wide range of movement. ([pds-bochum.de](https://www.pds-bochum.de/ueber-uns/lenneplatz/))
Program, Dates, and Contact for Turnhalle Lenneplatz
For current information, the order is simple: first offering, then contact, then date. The club pages show which courses and groups take place at Turnhalle Lenneplatz, and they name direct contacts or forms. This way, questions about participation, age groups, or available spots can usually be clarified more quickly than through a general event search. Therefore, those coming with the term events will best land at the specific sports and health offerings. Those searching for tickets should switch the language to registration, course fee, and membership. This corresponds exactly to the use of the hall and leads to the most reliable results. ([djk-preussen11-bochum.de](https://djk-preussen11-bochum.de/kurse/))
Practically speaking, Turnhalle Lenneplatz fits especially well for people who want to integrate movement regularly into their everyday lives. Families find suitable groups for children and parents, adults encounter fitness and health sports, and those addressing older target groups discover age-appropriate offerings with clear times. Together with the compact hall size and limited parking situation, a coherent picture emerges: small, approachable, active, and clearly anchored in community life. For seekers, this is the most important message because here, it is not the big spectacle that counts, but the reliable, weekly use. The club is probably great, but the gym is awful. I remember places like that from my primary school days (about 35 years ago): sprung wooden floor, concrete, run-down, old, dilapidated... "getting on in years" is the right word, but that's not meant in a friendly way...
