Westfield Ruhr Park | Parking & Center Map

The Westfield Ruhr Park in Bochum is much more than a classic shopping center. The location is considered the largest open-air shopping center in Germany, opened in 1964, and is counted among the oldest shopping centers in the Federal Republic according to Bochum Tourism. After the renovation and completion in 2015, the center now features more than 160 stores on 116,000 square meters, a strong fashion focus, an open boulevard architecture, and a shopping experience that consciously differs from closed mall concepts. Visitors to the Ruhr Park experience a mix of shopping, leisure, gastronomy, and cinema, making it particularly suitable for families, fashion enthusiasts, and day trips from the entire Ruhr area. This is also the reason why so many search queries start here: users want to know how to park best, how the center map works, which brands are on-site, and what events are currently taking place. ([bochum-tourismus.de](https://www.bochum-tourismus.de/bochum-entdecken/einkaufen/westfield-ruhr-park.html))

Characteristic is the combination of size, openness, and practical orientation. The new white canopies in origami design, described by Bochum Marketing, ensure that the area feels structured and friendly despite its dimensions. Additionally, there is a mix of established brands and experiential offerings that have made the Ruhr Park a well-known shopping destination in western Germany. The official website highlights services such as gift cards, lockers, kiddy cars, free Wi-Fi, and reception, which are exactly the details important for a comfortable visit. For local SEO, this location is particularly interesting because the search intentions are very concrete: people want to know where to park, what stores are available, whether there is a cinema, how big the center is, and what special promotions or events are currently taking place. These topics determine the structure of the following sections. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/en/germany/ruhrpark))

Why the Westfield Ruhr Park consolidates so many search queries about Bochum, shopping, and leisure

The Westfield Ruhr Park benefits from a rare combination of tradition and current use. On one hand, the location has stood for shopping in the Ruhr area for decades, while on the other hand, it has been modernized with the renovation and expansion to the point that it now resembles an urban open-air shopping destination. According to Bochum Tourism, it is the second oldest shopping center in Germany; at the same time, it remains highly relevant with its clear focus on fashion, a wide variety of brands, and a generous spatial structure. The brands visible on the website clearly show how broad the offering is: from ZARA and Wellensteyn to Mango, Rituals, and Pandora, as well as UCI Ruhr Park, Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof, Gabor, GUESS Women, Intersport Voswinkel, Lindt, MAC Cosmetics, Skechers, and Tommy Hilfiger. This spectrum explains why search queries not only concern the location but also individual stores, the map, and the opening hours. Those searching for the Ruhr Park often want to organize an entire visit, not just find a single store. ([bochum-tourismus.de](https://www.bochum-tourismus.de/bochum-entdecken/einkaufen/westfield-ruhr-park.html))

Particularly attractive is the open concept. Unlike in a compact downtown hall, the visit spreads over paths, squares, and covered areas, connecting shopping and quality of stay more strongly with movement and discovery. Bochum Tourism describes the Ruhr Park as the shopping mall of the future with boulevard-style design, new roof constructions, and a clear focus on a pleasant shopping experience in any weather. Additionally, there are gastronomic offerings such as Via Bartolo, L’Osteria, and The Ash, which make the location attractive beyond mere shopping. For visitors, this means: The Ruhr Park is a place where you can specifically target individual brands but also spend a relaxed afternoon with food, cinema, and strolling. This versatility makes the location so strong in search results because it covers several user intents: shopping, leisure, family outings, cinema nights, and seasonal events. ([bochum-tourismus.de](https://www.bochum-tourismus.de/bochum-entdecken/einkaufen/westfield-ruhr-park.html))

Parking at Westfield Ruhr Park: free parking spaces and Priority Parking

One of the most important reasons for the high search intent around the Westfield Ruhr Park is the topic of parking. The official parking page explicitly emphasizes that the location is directly at the Bochum highway interchange, i.e., at the junction of A40 and A43. That is why many guests arrive by car, and that is why the parking system has been generously designed. There are numerous parking spaces around the center that can be easily reached on foot, and the official statement is clear: these parking spaces are free. For a large shopping location, this is an enormous advantage because many visitors do not have to search for an inner-city garage but can start their visit directly in a planned and stress-free manner. This is also a central search topic from an SEO perspective, as terms like parking, parking space, A40, A43, and Bochum are closely related here. Those traveling with family, strollers, or large shopping bags often rate free and nearby parking options as the most important decision criterion. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/de/germany/ruhrpark/parkhaus))

Additionally, Westfield Ruhr Park offers the Priority Parking service, which is primarily aimed at members of the Westfield Club. According to the official description, a parking space is reserved on P1 in front of SiNN for a reservation fee of 3 euros. This price includes four hours of parking. After that, 2 euros are charged for each additional hour, which can be paid at the machine on-site via card payment; the exit is managed through automatic license plate recognition. This is a clear comfort service for anyone with a fixed arrival time or who wants to park particularly close to the entrance. For the search intents Priority Parking, reserve, Westfield Club, and parking, this detail is crucial, as it shows that the Ruhr Park not only offers many free spaces but also an organized premium offer for a particularly comfortable visit. Digital Center Map and Directions: how to find your way quickly

Because the Westfield Ruhr Park is very large, orientation plays a significant role. The official site therefore offers a digital center map, which is available online and in the Westfield app for iOS and Android. This digital map is relevant for users who want to know in advance where individual shops, services, or the cinema are located. From a search intent perspective, this fits perfectly with the keyword map, as many visitors want to understand how the location is structured before arriving, where to find a specific entrance, and how to keep the path from the parking lot to the shop as short as possible. A digital map is not only comfort here but also a tool against walking distances and search stress. This explains why the center map and directions are among the most important topics surrounding this location. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/de/germany/ruhrpark/services/service-digitaler-centerplan?utm_source=openai))

Additionally, visitors do not have to orient themselves to an anonymous large object but to clearly named services and a well-described center management structure. According to the official service page, the center management is located above the Postbank and can be accessed through the small backyard between Polestar and Postbank. The phone number is 0234-68 70 88-0, and the opening hours of the center management are Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00. The contact page also lists the general email address info@westfield-ruhrpark.de as well as the regular office hours Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00. This is valuable for visitors when questions arise about services, rentals, or general processes. Thus, the pure shopping location becomes a well-organized place with a clear service structure, where visitors already know whom to contact before shopping. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/en/germany/ruhrpark/services/service-centre-management?utm_source=openai))

Stores, Cinema, and Services: what to expect on-site

The range of stores is one of the central reasons why Westfield Ruhr Park is searched so frequently. The official website prominently displays numerous brands, including AMERICA TODAY, BODA BORG, Gabor, Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof, GUESS Women, Intersport Voswinkel, Juwelier Kraemer, Kikis Kitchen, Kikis Kitchen Coffee, LINDT, MAC Cosmetics, Mango, Pandora, Rituals, SKECHERS, SWAROVSKI, TOMMY HILFIGER, UCI Ruhr Park, Wellensteyn, and ZARA. This mix clearly shows that the location stands primarily for fashion, shoes, beauty, sports, accessories, sweets, and leisure offerings. Those searching for stores are not just looking for any shopping center here but a broad brand portfolio with high frequencies in the fashion and lifestyle sectors. This is also why individual labels like Bershka, Zara, or Wellensteyn appear so often in search queries. Even if not every brand is highlighted on the same page at all times, the visible shop landscape makes it clear that the Ruhr Park is perceived as a major attraction for current collections and well-known retail names. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/en/germany/ruhrpark))

Another strong argument is the cinema. Bochum Tourism describes the UCI Ruhr Park as a multiplex with 14 cinema halls and over 3,000 seats. The UCI site additionally emphasizes that all halls are equipped with wheelchair spaces and that the cinema benefits from its direct location at the highway interchange and good accessibility. This makes the Ruhr Park a leisure destination that goes beyond classic shopping. Those searching for cinema, leisure, or evening programs find a very concrete answer here. Additionally, the official website shows that entertainment and food & drink appear equally in the navigation menu. This is important for the overall character of the location: Westfield Ruhr Park does not function like a pure shopping center but like a whole day component with shopping, dining, cinema, and changing events. This connection of trade and experience makes the location attractive for families, couples, teenagers, and groups. ([bochum-tourismus.de](https://www.bochum-tourismus.de/bochum-entdecken/einkaufen/westfield-ruhr-park.html))

Events, Christmas, Flea Market, and Job Fair: the program at a glance

The current event and news landscape is another reason why search terms like Christmas market, parade, flea market, or jobs are relevant for the Ruhr Park. The official news section features regularly changing formats such as the Westfield Reloved Market and a Training and Jobs Fair. This shows that the location is used not only as a shopping place but also as an event space for seasonal and thematic actions. For searchers, this is crucial, as they often want to know not only which stores are open but whether a special occasion currently makes the visit even more attractive. The Ruhr Park responds exactly to this with a mix of shopping events, family activities, and local job and training formats. The website signals that there is not just a mall here but a place with a regular program and changing attractions for repeat visits. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/en/germany/ruhrpark))

Particularly strong is the location during the Advent and Christmas season. The official Christmas area describes a Christmas parade with 22 puppeteers, three festively decorated parade floats, Santa Claus, and the Ice Princess. Additionally, Christmas huts or a winter market with snacks, hot drinks, and gift ideas, a daily wrapping service, and Shoppy as a recurring character are highlighted. This is exactly the kind of emotional program that attracts search queries like Christmas market, parade, or photos, as it presents the Ruhr Park as a family-friendly experience world. For visitors, this means: Those searching for a festive outing destination in the Ruhr area in autumn or winter will find a clearly recognizable offer with recurring highlights here. Additionally, the location also communicates family-friendly formats like Bambinis Flohwelt as a children's flea market. Thus, the center becomes a place where shopping, season, and community events intertwine. ([westfield.com](https://www.westfield.com/de/germany/ruhrpark/weihnachten-2025?utm_source=openai))

The topic of jobs is also not only featured in the footer of the page but is concretely anchored through events. The news section announces a training and job fair at Westfield Ruhr Park. For people looking for jobs, training, or career orientation, this is a clear signal that the Ruhr Park not only offers retail space but also becomes visible as a platform for regional employers. Additionally, the website features a dedicated jobs link in the footer. This makes the location additionally interesting for SEO around career and retail. For practical use, this means: Those planning a shopping trip can simultaneously look out for events, job offers, or seasonal promotions. This connection of everyday life, leisure, and information is one of the reasons why the Ruhr Park brings together so many different search motives online. Westfield Ruhr Park is a really high-class shopping spot with pretty much all the big brands. Everything feels clean and modern, especially the toilets — and they’re free, which is rare for German malls. Great for families too, with electric car strollers for kids for just €2 an hour. Makes shopping way more fun and stress-free 😄

Best shopping place, many brands available. Parking and electric car charging available near the facility. We were there on Jan 1st, few shops are open.. but management decided to close all toilets. It was hard time finding toilets.

Lovely shopping place, beautiful atmosphere, open areas, lots of lovely designed benches and sitting places, and almost all the shopping brands from Germany. Loved the place, easily accessible from bus as Ruhrpark stop. Not many eating options available but what is there is still a lot. Kiki’s kitchen cheese cake is a must try, light and yummy.

Large and modern Shopping Mall with free parking (specially marked parking spaces for women, parents with young children, invalids, electric car chargers, place for bikes and repair tools). Modern and clean toilets are also free.
